How to turn a WhatsApp voice note into text

Forward the voice note to Mora on WhatsApp, or share it to the Mora app. Mora writes out what was said — in Egyptian Arabic, English or both — and keeps the text under the voice note, so you can read it instead of replaying it. If the voice note asks you to do something, Mora also turns it into a task with a reminder.

Step by step

  1. In WhatsApp, press and hold the voice note.
  2. Tap Forward and choose Mora — or tap Share and pick the Mora app.
  3. Open Mora: the text of the voice note sits under it, and any task it contained is already on your list.

Why not just replay it?

A two-minute voice note with one important line in the middle is hard to find later. Text can be skimmed in seconds, and the task inside it does not get lost in the chat.

Made for how people in Egypt talk

Mora is built for Egyptian Arabic — the way people actually speak, mixed with English words — not only formal Arabic. Names, times like "after asr" and phrases like "the day after tomorrow" are understood.

Your privacy

Mora only receives the voice notes you forward or share. It never reads your other chats. Voice recordings are kept 90 days and then deleted; the text stays with your tasks until you delete it or your account.

Questions

Can I transcribe a voice note someone else sent me?

Yes. Forward any voice note in your WhatsApp to Mora — from family, friends or work.

How long can the voice note be?

Long voice notes are fine; Mora writes out the whole thing and finds the tasks in it.

Does it work with English voice notes?

Yes. Mora understands English, Egyptian Arabic and a mix of the two.
