Privacy Policy

Welcome to Mora's Privacy Policy!

At Mora, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else sees it, and what control you have. By using Mora, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. What we collect

When you sign up:

  • Your phone number — to create your account, verify it, and match messages arriving from other apps
  • Your first and last name
  • Your email address, if you choose to add one
  • The name Mora calls you — used in replies, and to recognise when someone is addressing you in a voice note
  • How Mora should address you — Arabic is gendered, so Mora needs this to write correctly
  • The language you usually speak in, and your device timezone
  • What you're currently doing, your age range, and how you heard about us

What you send Mora:

  • Voice recordings, and the transcripts made from them
  • Text messages
  • Photos and documents, and the text read from them
  • Links you send, and the web address stored with each one
  • Tasks, dates, notes, and any corrections you make
  • Messages you send us from the Contact sheet

What Mora learns from you:

  • Your habits about time — what 'morning', 'night' or 'after work' usually mean for you, and your usual work days, learned from the times you choose and correct
  • Your routines — tasks you repeat, with their usual day and hour
  • Names you give places, like 'the club'
  • People you mention — the name as you say it and how you know them, with your own habits about them, like a usual call day

Mora learns only from your own words, never from a photographed document or a message someone else wrote. Everything it learns is included in the copy of your data you can download under Privacy, and one tap there — Forget what Mora learned — erases all of it. If you tell us Mora got something wrong about you, our support team can look at what it learned and correct or remove it.

Automatically:

  • Device model, operating system, app version, language, and IP address
  • When you send messages, how much of your monthly audio allowance you've used, and whether processing succeeded
  • Usage patterns — tied to a random app ID, never to your name or phone number. On by default; you can turn them off in Privacy
  • Dart error reports — the error type, filtered stack trace, app version and build number, limited operating-system details, and, where available, HTTP method, de-identified endpoint path and response status. On by default; you can turn them off in Privacy
  • A notification token, so reminders can reach your phone
  • Approximate location (optional). If you allow it, Mora stores your approximate location (about 1 km) to calculate prayer times for reminders like 'after Maghrib'. It is never used for anything else, and you can remove it under Privacy at any time

What we don't collect: your precise location, your contacts, your photo library beyond the files you choose to send, your calendar, or any payment details.

2. Why we're allowed to process it

  • To provide the service — creating your account, transcribing your messages, learning your habits so Mora asks you less, sending reminders, and the transfers outside Egypt described in section 4
  • Our legitimate interests — fixing faults, preventing abuse, keeping Mora secure, and improving Mora through usage analytics and Dart error reports
  • Legal obligation — responding to lawful requests

You can object to usage analytics and error reports at any time by turning them off under Privacy. Mora keeps working without them.

3. Who else processes your data

Mora relies on specialist service providers:

  • A speech recognition provider, which receives your voice recordings and returns text
  • An AI language provider, which receives your transcripts, photos, and documents and identifies tasks in them, and reads your recent messages to learn the habits described in section 1
  • A cloud hosting and storage provider, which stores your data
  • An analytics and notifications provider, which receives usage events and delivers your reminders
  • A WhatsApp provider, which receives your phone number to send your verification code
  • Sentry, hosted in the European Union, which receives the limited Dart error reports described above, unless you turn them off
  • Messaging platforms, if you send things to Mora from another app. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own policies

Each acts only on our instructions and is bound by contract. Contact support@trymora.ai for the current list of providers and their locations.

We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising.

We don't use your data to train AI models, and our contracts prohibit our providers from doing so with data from our accounts. Mora learning your habits isn't training a model: it's a private list for your account alone, deleted with it.

4. Data leaving Egypt

  • The providers above operate outside Egypt. This is necessary — the speech and AI capabilities Mora depends on aren't available domestically
  • These transfers are how Mora is provided to you, not something asked for separately: without them there is no transcription, no understanding, and no reminders
  • You can stop usage analytics and error reports in Privacy at any time. The service transfers above are necessary to operate Mora; deleting your account stops those transfers

5. How long we keep things

  • Account details — until you delete your account
  • Voice recordings, photos, and documents you send — 90 days
  • Transcripts and chat messages — 2 years, or sooner if you delete them or your account
  • Tasks and reminders — until you delete them or your account
  • What Mora has learned about you — 6 months after your messages last confirmed it, or sooner if you delete it or your account
  • Messages you send us from the Contact sheet — 1 year
  • An account whose sign-up wasn't finished (number confirmed, Terms not accepted) — 7 days, then it is deleted
  • Security logs (masked phone number and IP address) — 90 days
  • Usage analytics — 2 months
  • Server logs — 24 hours

When you delete your account we remove your data within 7 days, except anything the law requires us to keep. We also keep a coded form of your phone number and how much of the free plan you used this month, until that month ends, so deleting and re-creating an account doesn't reset the free limits. It can't be turned back into your number and holds nothing you sent. Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle.

6. Mora is automated, and it makes mistakes

Speech recognition turns your recording into text; language models read that text and infer what you meant — which tasks to create, what dates to use, who you were talking about.

These systems get things wrong. Names can be misheard, dates misread, tasks created that you didn't intend or missed that you did.

No decision with legal or similarly significant effects on you is made automatically. Mora organises information; it doesn't decide anything about your rights, money, or access to services.

You can correct anything Mora gets wrong, in the app.

Mora can also answer questions about your tasks, suggest a time from your habits, and message you first with a reminder or a summary of your day. What it says comes from your own tasks and what it has learned; it can still be wrong. Correct the task, or erase everything Mora learned under Privacy.

7. Information about other people

Your messages will often mention other people. A voice note saying your mother needs collecting at six gives us information about your mother.

We use that to build your tasks, and we remember people only as you describe them — a name and how you know them, plus your own habits about them, like the day you usually call. We don't look them up, don't contact them, don't keep their phone number or anything beyond your own tasks, and don't use their information for anything else. These names are in the copy of your data, and Forget what Mora learned under Privacy erases them.

Please only share information about others that you're entitled to share. If someone believes their information reached us improperly, they can write to support@trymora.ai

8. Security

  • Encrypted connections for everything in transit, and encrypted storage for your files and data
  • Strict access controls on production systems
  • Time-limited links for media, so files can't be reached by guessing an address
  • Regular security scanning and audit logging

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach happens that's likely to affect you, we'll tell you and notify the Personal Data Protection Centre within the time the law requires.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Know what we hold and how we use it, and get a copy of your data
  • Correct anything wrong
  • Delete your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Complain to the Personal Data Protection Centre

Use the controls under Privacy, or write to support@trymora.ai We reply within 12 working days, free of charge.

To delete your account: on the chat screen, tap your picture, then Privacy → Delete account. It's permanent.

10. Children

Mora is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger, and we delete any account we discover belongs to someone below that age.

If you're a parent or guardian and think your child has given us data, write to support@trymora.ai

11. Cookies and tracking

The app doesn't use cookies. Analytics are on by default, and you can turn them off under Privacy at any time. We don't use advertising or tracking technologies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top will change, and we'll tell you in the app before anything material takes effect. Where a change needs your consent, we'll ask for it.

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, or you'd like to exercise any of your rights over your data, contact us at support@trymora.ai

If you join the waitlist on this website, you can also give us your email. It's optional, and we use it only to send pilot invites and updates.

Delete your account

In the app, tap your picture on the chat screen, then Privacy → Delete account. No app? Use our account deletion page.

If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding your privacy, please , or email privacy@trymora.ai.
